The first way is by creating a licensing agreement in the search console. The second way is by tagging the images with licensing metadata.
To set up a licensing agreement, you first need to be logged in to your Google account associated with your Search Console property. Then, go to the Image License tab, and click on “Create.”
You’ll be asked to provide some basic information about your business and the type of license you’re offering. Once you’ve filled out all the required fields, click “Create License Agreement.”
If you don’t want to create a license agreement, you can tag your images with licensing metadata. This will let Google know that the images are available for licensing, and people will be able to purchase a license directly from the image search results.
To tag an image, add the following code to the <head> section of your website:
<link rel=”license” href=”https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/”>
This code tells Google that all of the images on your website are available for licensing under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. You can learn more about this license here.
If you want to offer a different license type, you can change the “href” attribute to point to a different license URL. For example, if you wanted to offer a non-commercial license, you could use this code:
<link rel=”license” href=”https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/”>
Once you’ve added the license metadata to your website, anyone searching for images on Google will be able to see that your photos are available for purchase. And if they decide to buy a license, you’ll receive a notification, and the money will be deposited into your account.
